How electricity is generated: Opus Energy fuel mix 2013–14

Since 2002 Opus Energy has become increasingly green in its supply of business electricity by using a large proportion of renewables in its fuel mix.

The Opus Energy renewables division was launched in 2011 and has, by purchasing power from renewable generators within the UK, been able to completely change the makeup of its fuel mix.

Gas made up the majority (60%) of Opus Energy’s electricity in 2011–12, with renewables making up 38% of its fuel mix. This was (and still is) a relatively large proportion of renewable energy compared with other suppliers. Since then, Opus Energy’s fuel mix has become even greener with 91% of its fuel mix coming from renewables.

Opus Energy’s corporate fuel mix is also largely green. So both large consumers of electricity or small businesses that are searching for a green electricity supplier should consider Opus Energy. But why not compare the fuel mix of other suppliers such as Haven Power and LoCO2?

Extremely helpful and clear to understand

"I have found the information and assistance to be very clear, and helpful. I was helped through the process of switching electricity supply by personal switching assistant Suhan Ashan who was not only helpful, but very patient in explaining all of the queries which I had and also researching the estimated KwH for our newly acquired office premises, as we had no previous tenant information."
