If you have just moved into new premises and need to submit meter readings how do you find out who supplies your business energy?
The first thing to do is ask the previous tenant or your landlord who supplies your gas or electricity. But if you are unable to contact them then you can find your electricity supplier details by calling the Meter Point Administration Service (MPAS) for your area.
The MPAS for the different areas of the country is run by the regional electricity distributor and the database is known as the Electricity Central Online Enquiry Service. You may hear energy suppliers and brokers referring to this as ECOES. The database contains all the information about the supply of electricity to each address in the UK.
The table below provides the emergency contact details for the energy distribution companies in the event of a power cut. Below that are the MPAS helpline numbers for each of the distribution companies across across the UK. The contact numbers for general enquiries and emergencies are sometimes different.
