What is my MPR number and where do I find it?

In order to find you accurate business gas prices we will need your Meter Point Reference (MPR) Number or MPRN so it’s good idea if you know what it is and where to find it.

What is an MPRN?

MPRN stands for Meter Point Reference Number and is a unique reference number which, like the Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN), is specific to your property. All properties in the UK supplied with gas will have an MPRN and it stays the same even if your supplier changes.

Where is my MPRN?

Your MPRN will be on your business gas bill. Usually business gas suppliers print the number on the first page of your bill or on the back of the front page. It’s easy to confuse your MPRN with your gas supplier account number or the meter serial number – these are very different.

Your MPR Number is a long number between six and ten digits similar to the one below:

Meter point reference:- 0123456789

How to find an MPRN

If you’ve just moved into a property and you can’t find your MPRN on your bill, then you can call XOSERVE’s MPR Number helpline – 0870 6081524. XOSERVE was previously known as Transco.

In the event that you don’t have your MPRN then we may be able to provide you with some gas prices using your gas meter serial number.

Like the MPAN, it helps if you have this number so that we can provide you with an accurate quote. But again, as with the MPAN, this number alone can’t be used to switch your energy supply.

If you have any other questions about your MPR number or you’d like a business gas quote, give us a call on 0330 0100 251 (or request a call back using our form).
