Boiler problems tend to occur during the winter months when the heating goes on and your boiler, which has been ticking over nicely for the previous six months, starts to work overtime.
One of the problems that can affect modern boilers, especially when there are long periods of very cold weather, is a frozen condensate pipe.
If you know how to solve some of the most common boiler problems then it can save having to call out a plumber – who will be busy when it starts getting cold!
Many new boilers are condensing boilers that have a condensate pipe, which takes away the condensation from the boiler. During very cold weather when it’s freezing even during the daytime, this pipe can freeze.
So, if you have a frozen condensate pipe – how do you thaw it?
The video from Southern Electric explains how to do this and how to prevent it from thawing again.
