The Citizens Advice Bureau is considering publishing business energy supplier performance statistics, a move that may encourage more competition and better deals.
To help business energy consumers make an informed choice on the best deal, Citizens Advice is planning to publish an expanded energy ‘league table’ from August 2015. By providing performance information – including on complaints – Citizens Advice will give small businesses “access to the information they need to make informed switching decisions”.
While most of the ‘big six’ offer transparency on performance, Citizens Advice, said that the picture is less clear for the almost 20% of electricity supplied by companies outside the major domestic suppliers. The organisation noted that the most recent business energy supplier customer satisfaction research was conducted by Ofgem in 2013 and did not offer any supplier specific information.
Citizens Advice is looking for responses by 19 June.
